da spicy bet: Real Madrid forward and former Spurs star Gareth Bale has told The Telegraph that Tottenham Hotspur have laid “the foundations” to win the Premier League title at some point in the near future.
da dobrowin: The 27-year-old made the move to Spain from White Hart Lane in an £85.1m deal in 2013 and he has gone on to become one of the best players in world football, scoring 67 goals in 147 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants.
However, he still keeps a close eye on his former team – who helped him achieve a dream move to Bernabeu and currently sit second in the standings behind Chelsea – and believes that the club are close to winning their first-ever Premier League title.
Bale said: “They have a great manager and a young, hungry spine to the team.”
Tottenham supporters were quick to give their thoughts on the quotes via social media, with many telling him to come back to north London in order to help them lift the famous trophy.
