da betobet: Scoring 100 Premier League goals has been a long-term target for Peter Crouch, and he can now celebrate reaching that milestone. The 36-year-old reached the feat by finding the back of the net in Wednesday night’s match against Everton at the Bet365 Stadium. It was not the most spectacular of goals, rather a tap-in from close range, but Crouch did not care as he wrote his name in the history books. It was a bittersweet ending to the match, though, as Stoke squandered their lead when Ryan Shawcross sent the ball into his own net.The contest remained at 1-1 until the final whistle, but the main talking point surrounded Crouch’s achievement.[ad_pod id=’now-tv’ align=’centre’]
As Squawka show, Crouch has racked up his tally across six different clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
The lanky striker has never been a one-club man, but as the figures show, he has contributed with goals wherever he has gone, and the most (37) have been scored during his five-and-a-half-year spell with the Potters.
Crouch is only the 26th footballer to reach a century of goals, and he could still move up the list of all-time leading Premier League scorers.
WhoScored’s tweet shows that he is level with Southampton favourite Matt le Tissier in terms of goals, and he is four shy of Didier Drogba’s tally, which he racked up during his nine-year spell at Chelsea.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer remains at the top of the all-time list on 260 goals, while Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is second with a tally of 188.
Given that Crouch is in the twilight years of his career, he will not be reaching those kind of figures, but it is a great achievement for the Englishman, who celebrated with his trademark robot celebration.
