da pixbet: Leeds United will be lining up a little differently for the next few weeks as Kiko Casilla sits on the sidelines while he serves his eight-game ban after being found guilty of racially abusing Jonathan Leko.
da wazamba: There are plenty of debates around what should happen to the Spaniard once his suspension is up, some fans have previously called for him to be sacked, while others believe he deserves a second chance.
No matter which side of the fence you lie on, you have to admit that there is certainly a few decisions to be made before the end of the season – chief among those being whether Casilla should play any role in the rest of the campaign.

Earlier this week we made the argument that Casilla shouldn’t play before the end of the season due to the atmospheres likely to be present in United’s final three games against Barnsley, Derby and Charlton, but we may have a clearer picture on that matter after Leeds’ next game.
Indeed, we’ve already spoken about the Yorkshire derby against Barnsley being potentially a hazardous atmosphere for Casilla to re-emerge in, but we neglected to consider whether or not Illan Meslier will be able to cope in those circumstances.
Fortunately, the stopper will get a taste of a heated Yorkshire derby this weekend against Huddersfield Town, and from there we will be able to judge his mental capabilities in those types of situations.
A lot has been made of United players’ mental strength this term, and if Meslier falters under the cauldron-like environment that is likely to be present this weekend against the Terriers, there will be questions as to whether or not he should start against the Tykes once Casilla is back.
Of course, this all still depends on how the club want to internally discipline the Spaniard, and it remains to be seen how the goalkeeper’s actions will affect his future at the club.
However, this weekend will provide the clearest picture of whether Leeds can afford not to play him again this term, or alternatively if Meslier is too much of a downgrade.
In other news, there could be one huge casualty if Leeds go up this season.
